Small ceramic table lamp with a mat light grey glaze and scared decors by Jacques Pouchain signed at the bottom L’Atelier Dieulefit. Topped with a shade with Dedar Milano fabric.

 

 

Jacques Pouchain (1927-2015)

Painter, sculptor and ceramist, best known for his ceramics creations.

He started his artistic formation in the Académie de la Grande Chaumière as an abstract painter.

In 1959 and after several years as a director of the Coursange earthenware decoration department in the Drôme region, he opened his own ceramics atelier in the village of Dieulefit, where he started creating utilitarian and artistic ceramic creations as well as abstract paintings.

His creations have been purchased by prestigious international museums and institutions such as: the Musée d’art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Service du Mobilier National, The Valencia Museum (Spain), The Marl museum (Germany), Musées de Marseille, University of Boston, and the city of Valencia, where he was commissioned a mural fresco for the city.
