Mithé Espelt

Mithé Espelt (1923-2020) was a French artist and designer, best known for her ceramic creations, particularly her decorative mirrors.

Born in Camargue, she trained at the Beaux-Arts in Montpellier before joining André Bloc's studio, where she explored various forms of applied art.

Between 1950 and 1970, Espelt gained notoriety for her ceramic objects, mainly mirrors, jewellery boxes and small decorative objects. Her creations were distinguished by their refined motifs, often inspired by nature, and by the use of bright colours and materials such as gold leaf.
