A stunning pair of wall sconces from Verner Panton’s iconic “Fun” series, featuring cascading strands of natural mother-of-pearl discs suspended from a polished metal frame. Designed in the 1960s, this piece exemplifies Panton’s belief that lighting should be both functional and emotional, creating movement, sound, and atmosphere.

The delicate, organically shaped shell discs catch light beautifully, producing a warm iridescent glow and a soft shimmering effect as they gently move. When illuminated, the sconce functions as both a light source and an art object — elegant, tactile, and instantly recognizable.

Many original spares are provided

Verner Panton (1926–1998) was a pioneering Danish designer known for his bold use of color, futuristic forms, and innovative materials. A leading figure of the 1960s and ’70s design movement, he challenged traditional Scandinavian minimalism with playful, immersive environments. Panton explored plastics, modular systems, and sculptural lighting, creating icons like the Panton Chair and the “Fun” and “VP” lighting series. His work blended design, art, and atmosphere, making him one of the most influential visionaries of modern design.
