Beautiful wall sconces by French artist Herve Wahlen.
Entirely made of hammered copper and covered in gold leaves, these curved wall sconces provide indirect lighting thanks to an LED strip hidden behind the central plate.
Born in 1957 Hervé Wahlen is a sculptor and coppersmith. He renews forms and techniques of dinanderie (copperware) and produces object-sculptures in which the contrast of the brightness of the gold notably in external and inside sides and the beauty of the materials underlines the upstroke of the sculpture.
His work can now be found at the Fond National d'Art Contemporain in Paris, the DRAC Ile-de-France (the Regional Direction for Cultural Affairs in Ile-de-France), and as a part of prestigious private art collections such as Bill Gates’s Collection, Paloma Picasso’s and Peter Marino’s Collection, and the DRAC Ile-de-France (the Regional Direction for Cultural Affairs in Ile-de-France).
