Pair of Vintage “Lambda” Wall Sconces by Vico Magistretti for Artemide

Refined pair of “Lambda” wall sconces designed by Vico Magistretti for Artemide in the 1970s, showcasing the designer’s signature blend of sculptural clarity and functional elegance. Each sconce features a gently rounded, shield-like frosted glass diffuser with horizontal ribbing that softly modulates the light. The two glass halves are joined by a sleek central metal bracket, creating a clean vertical axis that enhances the fixture’s architectural presence. Two sources of light per sconce.

Vico Magistretti (1920–2006) was an influential Italian architect and designer known for his refined, modernist approach and effortless synthesis of form and function. A leading figure of postwar Italian design, he collaborated with major brands such as Artemide, Cassina, and Oluce, creating timeless icons like the Atollo lamp and the Maralunga sofa. Magistretti’s work is characterized by clarity, elegance, and intelligent simplicity, making him one of the most respected voices in 20th-century design.
