Pair of Toni Zuccheri for Venini Two Tones Murano Glass Wall Sconces

An elegant pair of Italian wall sconces designed by Toni Zuccheri for Venini during the 1970s. Each fixture features a sculptural arrangement of hand-blown Murano glass elements in a warm amber-smoked tone, suspended in a layered composition around a lacquered metal frame. The elongated cylindrical glass pieces create a refined vertical silhouette while softly diffusing the light through their rich translucent colour.

When illuminated, the sconces produce a warm golden glow, highlighting the subtle texture and depth of the handcrafted glass.

Toni Zuccheri (1936–2008) was an influential Italian designer known for redefining Murano glass in the postwar era. Working closely with Venini from the 1960s onward, he introduced sculptural forms, organic textures, and innovative lighting designs that bridged craftsmanship and modernism. The son of painter Luigi Zuccheri, he approached glass as an artistic medium, creating works now prized for their originality, elegance, and importance within twentieth-century Italian design history.
