Aldo Londi (1911-2003)

From a young age, Londi showed a passion for ceramics, which led him to pursue a career in this field. He began his professional journey as a painter and decorator, honing his skills in various artistic disciplines. In 1946, Londi joined Bitossi Ceramiche, where he would spend the majority of his career. He quickly rose to the position of artistic director, a role he held for over three decades. During his tenure, Londi was instrumental in transforming Bitossi into a leading name in the ceramics industry. Londi is best known for his innovative designs and use of vibrant colors and textures. One of his most famous creations is the "Rimini Blu" series, characterized by its striking blue glaze and intricate patterns. His contributions to the field of ceramics have left a lasting impact on mid-20th-century design, making his work timeless examples of mid-century modern art.
