Exceptional sculptural chandelier by French ceramic artist Olivia Cognet, titled “Antti Lovag” in homage to the visionary architect.
The chandelier is composed of an assemblage of hand-shaped ceramic elements, forming an organic, architectural structure punctuated by irregular openings. An opaline glass globe is suspended at its center, providing a soft diffused light, while eight integrated LED bulbs are discreetly placed within the ceramic structure, illuminating the openings and emphasizing the piece’s sculptural volumes and textured surfaces.
The work takes its name from architect Antti Lovag, celebrated for his radical approach to organic architecture and his rejection of conventional rectilinear spaces. The reference is particularly personal for Cognet, who acquired one of Lovag’s houses in 2026. Its biomorphic forms, rounded volumes and interplay between solid and void directly resonate with the architectural language explored in this chandelier.
More than a functional light fixture, “Antti Lovag” sits at the intersection of contemporary ceramic sculpture, architecture and collectible design. Each element bears the irregularities and tactile qualities inherent to Cognet’s hand-worked ceramic practice, making the chandelier a unique work.
