Unusual piece made by the Italian artist Leoncillo Leonardi for Lumi Milano, this chandelier is made of a ceramic painted cylinder and twelve pointy arms of light typical of the mid century style.
Leoncillo Leonardi (1915 - 1968)
Italian sculptor who worked mainly with glazed ceramics. His work is mostly abstract and large scale often using vivid colors.
In 1946 he was one of the founding members of the Nuova Secessione Artistica Italiana which soon became the Fronte Nuovo delle Arti.
He received numerous recognitions for his work, but perhaps the two most important are the: Premio Faenza (1954 and 1964) and the sculptor’s prize at the Biennale di Venezia in 1968.
